Polyester resins
Saturated polyester for coil coating lines, and unsaturated grades for fibre glass laminates.
Two families under one name.
Saturated and unsaturated polyesters share a name and not much else. The saturated grades are coil coating binders, made for coats that go down on a moving line and then get bent without cracking. The unsaturated grades cure into fibre glass laminates, picked for mechanical strength or for chemical resistance. We make both, on dedicated equipment.
The unsaturated grades are also sold as UPR, FRP resin, fibre glass resin, and GRP resin.
Variations we develop
Seven grades in two families, one set built for the coating line and one for the laminate.
Saturated, for coil coating
A grade for each coat on the line, from primer through to top coat.
- Premium grade for high speed lines, with strong adhesion, exterior durability, and flexibility
- Primer and base grades, economical, with exterior durability and stain resistance
- Back coat grade, with adhesion, flexibility, and stain resistance
- Top coat grade, with exterior durability, adhesion, and flexibility
Unsaturated, for fibre glass
Two grades, chosen by what the finished laminate has to stand up to.
- Mechanical and automotive grade, for high mechanical strength
- Chemical grade, for high chemical resistivity
Specifications, pricing, or a custom grade
We develop to a target coat, cure schedule, or laminate.
Where these are used
Primer, base, back, and top coats for pre-coated metal.
Laminating resins for glass reinforced mouldings.
Mechanical grades where strength decides the part.
Chemical grades for tanks, ducting, and linings.
