Maleic resins
Rosin modified maleic resins in spirit soluble and oil soluble grades, for inks, paper coating, and French polish.

Two solubilities, two sets of jobs.
A rosin modified maleic resin is specified first by what it dissolves in, and that one choice sets the whole application list. The spirit soluble grades go into liquid inks, paper coating, and French polish. The oil soluble grades go into paints, offset inks, and hammer finishes. The chemistry is close. The applications are not.
Variations we develop
Four grades in two families, chosen by the system you are formulating into.
Spirit soluble
For alcohol and ester systems, where fast release and a hard, clear film decide the result.
- French polish and wood finishing
- Paper coating
- Liquid inks
- Picture varnish
Oil soluble
For oil and hydrocarbon systems, where the resin has to carry pigment and hold gloss.
- Offset inks
- Paints and hammer coats
- Flexo inks
- Nitrocellulose systems
Specifications, pricing, or a custom grade
We develop to a target solubility and film hardness.
Where these are used
Oil soluble grades for pigment carrying and gloss.
Spirit soluble grades with fast solvent release.
Both families, depending on the coating system.
French polish and picture varnish work.
